A group of volunteers from the Autumn Club set up the Community Cafe at the community centre approx 3 years ago. This was primarily for the residents of the estate to give them an affordable option to eat out and mix socially with other community members.

The Cafe has proved a huge success. It is a non-profit making venture, all the profits from the Cafe being ploughed back into the Autumn Club to reduce the costs to clients. The Cafe was recently visited by Wirral Borough Council environmental health and given a food hygiene rating of 3. The food safety officer inspecting a business checks how well the business is meeting the law by looking at how hygienically the food is handled; how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored; the condition of the structure of the buildings; the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities; how the business manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe. Following the inspection in January 2015 a rating score is given. The community centre Cafe was given an overall score of 5.

The community centre currently does not operate the Cafe due to Covid restrictions. This will be reviewed in early 2022:

Good fresh food at affordable prices is available at the Community Shop. All profits from the shop are put back into the Autumn Club funds, so come on down to support your centre and meet new friends.
